It's Sunday, let's go!

Before reading I want you to do four box breaths.

Exhale to a count of four, holding your lungs empty for a four-count, inhaling at the same pace, and holding air in your lungs for a count of four before exhaling.

Repeat 4 times.

"After recovering from crippling anxiety earlier in my life, I started a podcast to help normalise our discussions about our minds. โ“Self-reflection question โ“

In what ways are you preventing your own happiness?

This is an interesting question to reflect on as it can cover such a wide range of topics.

For me, some of the thoughts that came up are:

  • Not spending enough time doing things I like e.g. live music, adventures and family time

  • Lacking self-compassion at times. Not giving myself enough emotional slack

  • Too much time spent on social media means that I end up negatively comparing myself

  • Over thinking about stuff that won't matter in a few months time anyway

  • Poor sleep routine meaning lack of sleep impacts my happiness

It's sometimes crazy to think how easy some of these changes are to make but the bad habits are so ingrained that it is really hard to break them.

Without taking the time to regularly reflect you can easily miss early warning signs of poor mental health that if left unaddressed can snowball into bigger & bigger issues down the line.
