It's Sunday, let's go!

Before reading I want you to do four box breaths.

Exhale to a count of four, holding your lungs empty for a four-count, inhaling at the same pace, and holding air in your lungs for a count of four before exhaling.

Repeat 4 times.

🖼 Meme of the week:

❓Self-reflection question

? Am I avoiding something or someone right now?

This is really important to reflect upon, we often know what the source of our pain or discomfort is but it's easier to avoid, numb or ignore and the harder you try and run away from the issue the harder it can bounce back.

Try writing for 5 minutes straight with no filter about this question or set a timer on your phone and address the issue in your mind, and ask yourself how you can take this issue head-on & take control of your mind.

📝 Article of the week

Chris Williamson - Retreating To The Inner Citadel (3 minute read)

Snippet from the article:

"Isaiah Berlin says:

“When the natural road towards human fulfilment is blocked, human beings retreat into themselves, become involved in themselves, and try to create inwardly that world which some evil fate has denied them externally.

If you cannot obtain from the world that which you really desire, you must teach yourself not to want it.

If you cannot get what you want, you must teach yourself to want what you can get.

This is a very frequent form of spiritual retreat in depth, into a kind of Inner Citadel, in which you try to lock yourself up against all the fearful ills of the world.” "
